  • The statue of Christ the King, is located in downtown Maumere as the protector of the city. This statue is a legacy of King Don Thomas da Silva which was built in 1925. This statue was damaged during World War II, then rebuilt in 1989 and was blessed by Pope John Paul II during a visit to Maumere.
